We captured everything—from newborn yawns to the wobbly toddler stage, the sweet smile before they lost their baby teeth, and that adorable toothless grin right after. But somewhere along the way, the tradition fades. Between the chaos of school, sports, and busy schedules, the years between 9 and 18 often go undocumented.

And I get it. It happens to the best of us.

Aside from the occasional cell phone snapshot or selfie, it’s rare to see beautiful, professional portraits of kids during these in-between years. But they’re important. These are the years when their personalities deepen, their style emerges, and they start becoming who they’re meant to be.

That’s exactly why I started offering Freshman Portrait Sessions—and why I’m bringing them back this summer!

Why Freshman Year?

Because they’re on the cusp of independence—but not quite there yet.
Because you blink and suddenly they’re seniors.
Because these years deserve to be remembered, too.

Freshman portraits are a way to slow time down, just for a moment, and celebrate who your child is right now—not just who they’re becoming.

Session Details

Most sessions are scheduled in the morning to beat the South Texas heat, but I’m flexible and can work with your schedule. Not a fan of summer sessions? No problem! We can book your shoot any time of year.

This isn’t about stiff poses or overdone editing. It’s about capturing your teen in a relaxed, natural way—with authentic smiles and genuine expressions.
